stealing dresses

This is my mum's dress. I was unhappy with the choices in my messy, overflowing wardrobe, and so I made a visit to her unnaturally neat one. Be warned - I am showing a lot more titty than normal. Why do you own such a low-cut dress, mother?! Gross.

 Dress: Tree of Life
Shoes: Dorothy Perkins
Necklace: Tiffany & Co
Bracelets: Diva

Special Guest Appearance: King Denny the Cat
I'm getting a big-arse mole on my face removed next week. I get to go to hospital and everything. It is really weird looking at pictures of myself from a few years ago when I didn't have that mole, and perhaps a bit frightening to see how much it has grown. Moley moley moley. So I have now taken to wearing a crapload of sunscreen everyday. Curse you, Scottish heritage.
Anyway I've hardly done anything this week. This is due to being a lazy bitch. Today I went to the shops and bought some stuff from Diva because they had some Twilight jewellery, lulz. I hate the necklaces that have stupid lines from the book, like "and so the lion fell in love with the lamb." VOMIT. Or "look after my heart, I've left it with you." SO MUCH VOMIT. Surely there are better lines from the book that are worthy of being quoted. Despite how lame it can be at times, I really am quite a big fan of Twilight. I am not ashamed!

Hello! While choosing my outfit for a friend's 25th on Friday night, I noticed that I seem to have developed a small obsession with bird-related clothing and jewellery items.

1&2: Dress on left from TEMT, dress on right from Dotti (in stores now)
3: Mah collection!
4: Ring on right from Diva (in stores now), ring on left from Colette
5: Necklace from kirstin ash (the first birthday present from my boyfriend, aaww)
6: Can't remember where either of these are from, but they are nice so LOOK AT THEM.
7: Gold earrings from Colette
8: Necklace from Colette

I'm not even a huge fan of birds. If I walked outside and saw a bird, I would say "hello" and keep walking. If, however, I walked outside and saw a cat, I would run up to it, go "SQUEEEEEE" while giving it a cuddle, regardless of whether it hisses at me or runs away. And then if it ran away I would chase after it, making crazy eyes while rattling some cat biscuits. This is how I go about making friends with humans, also. But yes. I do love me some bird print.

My weekend has been pretty good. As I said before, I went out on Friday night to a friend's 25th. My three best friends from high school were there, it was weird but also cool to be able to hang again like old times. During school we were inseperable but then we drifted apart pretty much straight away. Sob sob waaaahhh. After the party we went to a titty bar in the city (a city titty bar?) and were the only females with clothes on. As I'm sure you can tell, I only visit the very finest of establishments.

Also on Saturday my boyfriend and I went for a drive to look at the house that we're going to be moving into next year! It's right on the waterfront in a cool little area. Pretty badass! Can't wait to finally move out of home!

This is what I wore yesterday to do my Uni Presentation of Doooooom. It was okay, the tutor said I passed which is all I really care about. YAY to not failing. Now I've just got three assessments left. One 3,000 word assignment, and two music assessments. For one of them I have to sing a whole bunch of songs while accompanying myself on piano, and the other I have to play drums and then xylophone. Slightly worried as I'm not a drummer or xylophonist, but I think I'll be alright. After that I have a whole month of FREEDOM ... until summer semester. Arghhh.

On another note, I quit my job! Hurray! I worked in a call centre giving out public transport information to stupid people. It was okay when I first started, but in the last few months I started to dread coming to work, days before I actually had to be there. I'm not sure why, because the majority of calls only last about 30 seconds. I guess it's because you're just sitting at the computer all day, where you can physically see on the clock in the bottom right hand corner how slow the time is going. Also I suppose it's because of those unnecessarily rude customers who treat you like shit, even though they are the ones who are calling for your services. And then I think to myself, "I can't believe people like this exist." And then afterwards I realise that they all live in Brisbane as well. Obnoxious arseholes who behave like dickheads towards total strangers. They live in Brisbane. So I guess that is also why I quit.

That turned into quite the rant, but I'm sure those of you who work in customer service will understand. I'm gonna try get a job teaching piano, which I used to do, and it was pretty fun. Also it's relevant to my degree, so that's a bonus.

Anyway! I hope you are having a good day and that you like cats. If you don't, LOOK AWAY NOW BECAUSE HERE ARE SOME PICS OF MY CATS ARRRRRRRRRRRRH

They love each other, really.

purple and red

My last post got me thinking about how much I like the combination of purple and red. So I wore some purple and red clothes. These aren't the best photos because my boyfriend isn't around to take them for me. I don't have a tripod, either, so I had to use my fridge and then a music stand. Haha. Ah, fridges. Is there anything they can't do?

Special appearance by Little Dee Dee the cat!

I realised afterwards that using the flash was probably a bad idea because it kind of makes me look like a giant. I'm not a giant!

Might go dye my hair now to avoid doing my presentation. Yes, it's due tomorrow. Yes, I have to speak for ten minutes without any notes. Yes, I am freaking out because I am terrible at speaking in front of an audience. Yes, it's a group assignment and there are people depending on me. No, I haven't started.

It would appear September mainly consisted of cats and cakes. A good combination if ever I saw one.

windy day

Necklace: Colette (it was $2 ommggg)
Top: Dotti
Blazer: Valleygirl
Skirt: Piper (at Myer)
Oxfords: City Beach

Special appearance by: Ferguson "King Denny" the Orange Cat of Wisdom.

Why hello there! Just a quick outfit post before I slowly die from the Giant Mouth Ulcer of Doom that is currently attacking me. Eeww, I hear you say. Eeewwww.

I didn't really do anything in particular today. Just wore this outfit to pick my boyfriend up from work, and then we bought sushi and watched a couple of episodes from Season 8 of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Much laughter was had. I'll probably wear this outfit or something similar to work tomorrow.

Also, here is a photo of me from when I got to be Queen for a whole night last Friday. I went out for my friend's 23rd birthday (we went to a bar with topless waitresses, oohhh saucy), but she was drunk nice and let me wear her crown all night. :)

Too much smile?
See ya later alligators!

cats and bows and lace

I have much envy for people on Chictopia and Lookbook who always look so natural and relaxed in their photographs. I have to snap about a million photos until I take one that I don't cringe as much at. I never know what to do with my hands. They just feel like big spastic lumps of meat. You may now refer to me as Meat Hands. I guess it doesn't help that I take my photos using a self-timer with my camera on top of the refridgerator. Have to keep running backwards and forwards flailing my arms about. Ah, yes. I am clearly destined to be a model.

Being pretty new to Chictopia, I'm still not to sure what the "formula" is to be successful. There's the obvious factors such as having a DSLR, putting together great outfits and being a skinny young female, but I don't think that's everything. It's hard to predict what the most voted for outfits are on the "new photos" page at first glance. Sometimes I'm pretty surprised when I hover my mouse over the photos and see that an outfit where the person has taken a mirror shot with their iPhone camera has had more votes than a high quality photo with an amazing outfit and beautiful scenery. Confusing.

Also there's the whole "I'm only commenting on your photo so you comment on mine" thing. I don't really mind, because I do it myself, but I only comment on and rate outfits that I think the member has put a lot of effort into, and of which I would wear myself.

Anyway, enough about that. Here's a picture of my cat. (Yes, I am a poet, thanks for noticing.)
